In a recent revelation Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey has admitted that he feels “attached” to fellow actress Ellen Pompeo.

Dempsey plays Meredith, Pompeo’s husband, in the medical drama and the pair has been on the show since 2005.

Dempsey also says there now exists a strong bond between them, adding: “Ellen and I really have gone through a seven-year relationship. There are a lot of emotions that a couple experiences – we have good days and bad days.

“We have a deep emotional attachment, so it is like you have a real relationship. As it were.”

The couple’s onscreen relationship is not going very well of late, since Derek accidently found out that Meredith was tampering with his trial of Alzheimer.

Dempsey says the reconciliation would be difficult but Pompeo jokes Derek should have a better understanding of Meredith by now.

The pair has been the favorite subject in Grey’s Anatomy rumors since the winding up of the last season.
