George O’Malley (T. R. Knight)
George is one of the featured interns in the television series entitled “Grey’s Anatomy”. George, together with Izzie, decided to move in with Meredith while they were working as interns in the fictional hospital featured, the Seattle Grace Hospital. George had always had feelings for Meredith, but he never revealed it to her. Instead he became Meredith’s best friend. O’Malley had his first surgery performed after he was selected by Preston Burke, the cardiothoracic consultant in Seattle Grace Hospital. George have dated a number of women including Callie Torres who is the orthopedic surgeon of the hospital. He and Callie got married but later on were separated after Callie revealed that she had slept with another man. O’Malley then slept with Izzie and the two learned that they have feelings for each other.
Theodore Raymond “T.R.” Knight portrays the role of O’Malley in “Grey’s Anatomy”. Born on March 26, 1973, T.R. Knight was active in Broadway productions before he landed a role in “Grey’s Anatomy”. His Broadway projects include Noises Off and Tartuffe where he was nominated for Drama Desk Award. His portrayal as O’Malley had awarded him with Primetime Emmy nomination for the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series back in 2007. Knight’s last season in “Grey’s” was the fifth season installment of the show. He will be back in Broadway production where he will be part of David Mamet’s show “A Life in the Theatre”. He will play the role of John.
