So, what are some of the great lessons that you may have learnt from the great ABC series? Well, I would say one of them is that turning Grey’s Anatomy into a cops show was one of the best ideas whilst trying to turn it into lawyers show is a very bad idea. Earlier this year, we watched The Deep End episode which chances are that you never recall it but you would remember Rookie Blue which got a second season already. The reasons are clear, the former episode was about young, impossibly attractive neophyte lawyers while the latter was about young, impossibly attractive but neophyte police officers.

Rookie Blue received the highest rating in summer with an average of 7.1 million viewers. The ABC network only hopes this will even get better. Canada is watching Grey’s Anatomy and Rookie Blue is the hit. The story is about rookie cops standing for rookie doctors and the composition is of the young getting involved with the superiors. Andy McNally is the first one to equal Meredith Grey. She has problems with one of her parents who is a cop. Meredith’s mom is a surgeon like Meredith. This whole story is just Grey like the series and this sells it as opposed to The Deep End.

New episodes of the Rookie Blue are set to air in summer while others are just repeats although from the look of things, this may remain ABCs only summer series. This follows disappointments from other series like Scoundrels, The Gates, Downfall, Boston Med and even True Beauty. Wipeout is also promising but maybe it would be locked for next summer.

CBS also has disappointments on with its cop shows The Bridge and Flashpoint. NBC also has issues with Persons Unknown and 100 questions. But at least for NBC they have America’s Got Talent and Last Comic Standing to bank on. For Fox though, things are not turning out as expected from The Good Guys considering this has to run through fall. Hell’s Kitchen and So You Think You Can Dance are some of the shows that are returning on the network this summer which are doing well.

So, it can be said that none of the networks is enjoying their new roll outs this summer but summer is not over yet, there is a lot more for you.
